Brooke, am I getting Cambria soon? I know I'm supposed to have her for Christmas, and I'm already making plans!
If you are from a foreign country I would love for my traveling doll Cambria to come visit you. I think it would be so cool.
So far Cambria has been to many states here in the U.S. and she has also been to Canada. I would love for her to travel even further.
If you would like to host Cambria, please post here or PM me. You can start as early as February 2006. (2-2006)
Anyone NOT from a foreign country can still sign up to have Cambria as well, but this is is just special notice for those of you outside the U.S.
Cambria is one of the new AGoT, the one with no bangs, brown hair, blue eyes and freckles. She has been traveling since April or May of 2005, I think? I can't remember when she started her trip.
Here is what you would be responsible for if you agree to take her for a month: Contact me when you get her and tell me what condition she is in, then play with her, take her places, etc., write about what you did in her travel journal (you can put in pictures too if you have any) and then when the month is about done you have to pack her up in her box just like you got her, and take her to the post office to ship her to the nest host family. You will have to pay to ship her to the next host, and you DO have to pay insurance on her when you ship her (in case anyhting happens to her while she's in the mail). I don't know much about other countries, but here, the postage and insurance did not cost very much, so I wouldn't worry about the expense.
Well if you're interested, post here or PM me!

I'm PMing you.
Hi I would be interested in hosting her!! I can't PM you; my pm isn't letting me "create" new pms, I can reply though. I live in Washington.
Thanks!!
I'm not from another country, bu I am moving to one in about 3 weeks. I'm moving to Honduas for a job teaching first grade. I'd like to consider hosting your doll, it would be a wonderful teaching opportunity. I was even thinking of having a traveling doll of my own.
I'm not from another country according to most standards, but the Isleta Pueblo is an autonomous nation sovereign to the US. I'd love to host Cambria on our reservation!
Additionally, I do my graduate research in Eastern Ukraine and Russia, so I will be travelling there several times this year. My first trip is in 2 weeks, so that is too early, but I'll be going again in March/April and during the summer. My trips are short enough that Cambria could ride on the plane w/ me and not have to worry about international mail (which is sketchy in the former Soviet Union) but long enough for her to have a good time. I'll generally be there between 4 to 5 weeks.
Colette - your travels and study sound very interesting. What a great traveling doll story you could make!
Oh, I love 23!! I didn't realize she was 23!! I wish I could take her with me this month but I don't want to pre-empt someone. I love that doll. I really really want one, but when it came down to it, I knew I'd want Jess.
I am already thinking of what Cambria could do in Ukraine. She could go with me to Bakshi-serai, the old stronghold of the Mongols when they took over Kievan Rus (the precursor to the Russian empire). There is a beautiful old palace there; the harem of which inspired the famous Pushkin poem "The Fountain of Tears." She could come to Yalta- and visit the palace where Anastasia and the rest of the Tsar's family spent their summers. I am going there for New Year! She could go to the old onion-domed church where they celebrated their holidays.
I can even think of the souvenirs already! Tiny carved and painted loshki (spoons) and matrioshka (stacking) dolls! I know just the street- Andreyevski Spusk- where they sell them!!
On a reservation note, we live right by the model for Josefina's hacienda. She could visit that, as well as the plaza in Santa Fe where Josefina visited with Patrick the Americano trader. There are our ancient ruins and our stacked adobe homes. Our real horno in our yard... the orchards, the volcanoes, the cliff dwellings...
Why does the idea of a travelling doll make the mundane things in your life seem exciting?
Thank you for the compliment that my life would be fun for a travelling doll! I just got a new AGT whose story is related to Russia... it's as yet to be revealed to the board.
Colett Denali, tell me when you're going next (I know you said March/Apr, but I mean tell me a specific time, once you get your schedule all worked out) and I will get Cambria to you then. Thats is SO exciting, to go to Russia and Ukriane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell !!!!!!
I would also love for her to go your reservation, I think it is so neat and I would really like my doll to get to see it!
Can Cambria make two trips to visit you, one to be on the reservation and then another once you're going overseas? Or would one trip work best?
Stephanie31802, that is so cool! I would love Cambria to go to Hondurus, can she meet your 1st graders? They would probaly like seeing her travel journal of places she has been to, and maybe you could track her on a map with your class after she leaves. It would be so cool! You will go there in January or so? How long will you be there? Tell me when would be the most convieiant time to have her.
MarisolGraceGirl, Washington is so far away form me that it SEEMS like a foreign country! You can host Cambria too. Let's work out a time later, though, after I get the others situated. And you can help plan a time, that way it will be convieniant for you. Also, are you under 18, I think you are, right? Because you'll need to make sure your parents will let you do this. It means giving out your address to someone. So they may not want you to. However some people under 18 (and even some over 18) have had her shipped to their fmaily business, place of work, PO box, etc so that they're not giving out a home address.
We'll talk about it and get the details worked out later.
Thanks everybody! I have written you all down and we can get details worked out for her to come to you and visit you!!!
